Temporary Purchase Ledger Assistant

We’re working with a fast-paced, growing business in Poole who are looking for a Purchase Ledger Assistant to support their finance team on a temporary basis.
This is a busy, hands-on role where you’ll play a key part in keeping the purchase ledger running smoothly — ideal for someone who thrives in high-volume environments and can hit the ground running.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of day-to-day purchase ledger tasks, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and timely processing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Processing a high volume of supplier invoices quickly and accurately
- Matching, batching and coding invoices
- Managing and resolving supplier queries in a timely and professional manner
- Supporting payment runs
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
- Maintaining accurate records and supporting the wider finance team
What we’re looking for
- Strong purchase ledger / accounts payable experience
- Confident processing high volumes of invoices
- Proven ability to manage and resolve queries effectively
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work at pace in a busy environment
- Strong communication skills when dealing with suppliers and internal teams
