Temporary Purchase Ledger Assistant

We’re working with a fast-paced, growing business in Poole who are looking for a Purchase Ledger Assistant to support their finance team on a temporary basis.

This is a busy, hands-on role where you’ll play a key part in keeping the purchase ledger running smoothly — ideal for someone who thrives in high-volume environments and can hit the ground running.

The Role

You’ll take ownership of day-to-day purchase ledger tasks, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and timely processing.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing a high volume of supplier invoices quickly and accurately
  • Matching, batching and coding invoices
  • Managing and resolving supplier queries in a timely and professional manner
  • Supporting payment runs
  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
  • Maintaining accurate records and supporting the wider finance team

What we’re looking for

  • Strong purchase ledger / accounts payable experience
  • Confident processing high volumes of invoices
  • Proven ability to manage and resolve queries effectively
  • Good attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work at pace in a busy environment
  • Strong communication skills when dealing with suppliers and internal teams
