Quality & Compliance Manager

We are supporting a growing and dynamic business in Poole in their search for a Quality & Compliance Manager to join their Operations team.
This is a high-impact role, reporting directly to the Operations Director, with responsibility for leading and developing the Group’s Quality Management System (QMS) and wider product compliance framework across pharmaceutical and medical device operations.

The Role
You will take ownership of quality and compliance across the Group, ensuring robust frameworks are in place and maintained across all product categories, including pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
Key responsibilities include:
Quality Assurance & ISO
- Own, maintain and continuously improve the Group Quality Management System (QMS)
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards (including ISO 9001)
- Plan and manage internal and external audits
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Drive continuous improvement across quality processes
Compliance & Regulatory
- Develop and deliver the Group’s Product Compliance strategy
- Identify and interpret regulatory requirements across pharmaceuticals and medical devices
- Implement structured compliance frameworks and governance processes
- Monitor regulatory changes and ensure timely updates
- Provide reporting to senior leadership and Board
Pharmaceutical Compliance (GDP / WDA)
- Work closely with external advisors and Responsible Persons (RP) to ensure GDP compliance
- Support and maintain the Wholesale Distribution Authorisation (WDA)
- Ensure audit readiness and manage regulatory inspections (e.g. MHRA)
- Opportunity to progress towards becoming the business’s Responsible Person (RP)
Medical Device Compliance
- Ensure compliance with UK & EU MDR and ISO 13485 standards
- Oversee technical documentation and product registrations
- Ensure post-market surveillance and reporting requirements are met
About You
You will be a detail-oriented and proactive compliance professional with strong experience in quality systems and regulatory frameworks.
You will likely have:
- Experience implementing and maintaining ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
- Strong understanding of quality assurance, governance and compliance frameworks
- Experience managing audits and driving continuous improvement
- Excellent organisational and analytical skills
- The ability to build and implement structured compliance processes
- A proactive, commercially aware approach
Desirable:
- Experience within pharmaceutical distribution (GDP / WDA)
- Experience within medical device compliance (UK MDR / ISO 13485)
- Eligibility or interest in becoming a Responsible Person (RP)
- ISO Auditor qualification
