An established and growing manufacturing business is seeking a Manufacturing Accountant to join its finance team at an exciting stage of development.
Working closely with the Finance Director and Operational Leaders, you’ll provide financial insight that supports operational performance, commercial decision making and continued business growth.
This is a broad role that combines manufacturing costing, project analysis, inventory and WIP reporting with increasing exposure to commercial finance and business partnering. It would suit candidates currently working as a Manufacturing Accountant, Cost Accountant, Management Accountant, Commercial Accountant or Finance Analyst looking to build their career within a growing manufacturing environment.
The Role
You will play a key role in supporting the financial performance of the business, providing accurate reporting, meaningful analysis and insight across manufacturing operations.
Key responsibilities will include:
- End to end project cost management and analysis.
- Monitoring and reporting on material, labour and overhead costs.
- Reviewing Bills of Materials, routings and costing structures.
- Supporting inventory reporting, stock valuation and WIP reconciliations.
- Producing weekly and monthly cost reports, KPIs and performance analysis.
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Investigating cost variances and working with operational teams to identify root causes and corrective actions.
- Providing financial insight to support operational and commercial decision making.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across costing, reporting and financial processes.
About You
You’ll ideally bring:
- Part qualified or fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA, although strong manufacturing finance experience will also be considered.
- Must have experience within manufacturing, engineering or project-based environments.
- Exposure to costing, inventory, WIP, production reporting or operational finance.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Advanced Excel capability and confidence working with large data sets.
- The ability to build effective relationships with operational stakeholders.
- A proactive approach and genuine interest in understanding how a business operates.
