Lead Operations at Board Level
Are you an experienced operations leader with a track record of lifting performance across warehousing, supply chain, and facilities (with some light manufacturing exposure)?

We’re seeking an exceptional Group Operations Director to lead and develop group operations, owning end-to-end multi-site warehousing & distribution at scale. Reporting to the Managing Director, you’ll set the strategy, make it real, and partner at Board level to deliver meaningful results on service, cost, safety, and compliance.
What You’ll Deliver
- Shape and deliver a clear 3–5 year operations roadmap aligned to group goals.
- Lift service, cost and compliance across sites; tighten inventory, flow and space utilisation.
- Embed best practice & CI (Lean, 5S), land WMS/automation changes, and make data-led decisions stick.
- Build, coach and develop a high-performing leadership team with strong succession.
- Work hand-in-glove with Finance on budgets, KPIs and investment cases; present confidently at Board.
What You’ll Bring (what the client is looking for)
Essential
- Proven leadership of high-volume warehousing & logistics (inbound, inventory, pick/pack, despatch, transport).
- Multi-site scale (people, budget, throughput) with clear results on service, cost and OTIF.
- Demonstrable transformation/CI delivery and practical experience landing WMS/automation in live operations.
- Outstanding people leadership: developing managers, raising safety standards, and building a performance culture.
- Comfortable operating at Board level, translating strategy into delivery.
Desirable
- E-commerce / omni-channel fulfilment (B2B/B2C) and/or deep 3PL / carrier management.
- Exposure to light manufacturing (the focus remains distribution-led).
- Experience stabilising and scaling operations through growth or integration.
