We’re looking for a driven and commercially minded finance professional to support the Finance Director and take ownership of day-to-day finance operations.
This is a great opportunity to join a business that has successfully evolved from its wholesale origins into a thriving multi-channel operation with strong consumer growth and increasing complexity. Finance is firmly embedded in the business, with a real focus on influence, impact and continuous improvement.
Ideal for someone stepping up into their first Financial Controller role, a Finance Manager or experienced Accountant ready for broader responsibility and career progression.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Manage statutory accounts and Companies House filings
- Deliver accurate, timely monthly management accounts and insights
- Support the Finance Director on projects and systems improvements
- Handle payroll, pensions, and associated reporting
- Prepare UK and EC VAT returns and ensure full HMRC compliance
- Lead balance sheet reconciliations and month-end processes
- Oversee stock accounting, including imports and goods in transit
- Supervise credit control and contribute to credit policy development
- Manage treasury functions; including loans, FX, and cashflow
- Enhance and document financial processes and controls
Experience and Core Skills:
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified, or a finalist with relevant experience
- Strong technical accounting and financial control knowledge
- Background in a product/stock-based business with significant stock volumes
- Experience in e-commerce, retail, or wholesale preferred; especially with international operations
- Hands-on and detail-focused with a commercial mindset
- Comfortable balancing operational tasks with strategic input
- Skilled in ERP systems and advanced Excel reporting
- Confident communicator across all levels of the business
Benefits and Remuneration:
- Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 depending on experience and qualifications
- 22 days holiday + bank holidays (rising to 25 with service)
- Collaborative, friendly team culture with a strong sense of ownership
- On-site role, Monday to Friday, 9:30am–5:30pm
