Finance Controller

A rapidly growing and fast-paced manufacturing business are seeking an experienced Financial Controller/Senior Management Accountant to join their business on a 12 month FTC, to support its UK operations as well as international expansion. This key role offers the opportunity to take ownership of the management accounts and key financial processes, while working closely with both finance and operational teams.
The Role:
- As Financial Controller you will lead the month-end process, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.
- Reviewing the monthly results, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrections.
- Preparation of UK VAT returns, EC Sales Listings, and Intrastat reports.
- Maintain financial data integrity and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Supporting the consolidated monthly management accounts in collaboration with the wider finance team.
- Assist with inter-company allocations and reconciliations across international entities.
- Working closely with external auditors to ensure smooth and timely statutory reporting.
- Partnering with the material control and production teams to manage inventory effectively.
- Oversee multi-currency cashflows and prepare cashflow forecasts.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in financial processes and controls.
- Provide technical support to the finance team and assist with ad hoc projects.
The Ideal Candidate:
- ACA / CIMA / ACCA qualified Accountant, or finalist with extensive experience.
- Ideally 5+ years of experience working in a management accounting role, ideally within an SME business.
- Strong background in manufacturing or gained from a product-based industry.
- Experience in global operations and reporting outside the UK is a plus.
- Solid knowledge of VAT returns; understanding of Intrastat and EC Sales is desirable.
- Strong Excel skills, Netsuite experience is beneficial.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
- Comfortable working to tight deadlines, particularly around month-end.
