An established and growing food manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Factory Operations Manager to lead production operations at its Dorset facility.
This is a key leadership role responsible for the day-to-day management of a fast paced fresh food production site, overseeing cutting, packing, value added production and dispatch operations while driving performance, efficiency and the highest food safety standards.
The business is entering an exciting phase of operational development with investment into systems, processes and infrastructure, creating an excellent opportunity for an experienced production leader to shape and strengthen site performance.

The Role
You will take full responsibility for the leadership and performance of the factory operation, ensuring production runs safely, efficiently and in line with customer demand.
Working closely with senior leadership, you will help drive operational improvements, develop the production team and implement robust processes across the site.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading daily production operations including cutting, packing, value added product preparation and dispatch
• Ensuring production schedules are delivered efficiently and to the highest quality standards
• Driving improvements across yield, productivity, labour utilisation and waste reduction
• Maintaining strong coordination across intake, processing and distribution
• Ensuring full compliance with food safety and hygiene standards including BRC and HACCP
• Leading, developing and motivating production supervisors and operational teams
• Driving continuous improvement across production processes and site performance
• Supporting the implementation of operational systems and production processes
• Maintaining a strong health and safety culture across the factory environment
About You
You will be an experienced Factory Manager, Production Manager or Operations Manager with a background in fast paced food manufacturing.
You will bring strong operational leadership, a hands on management style and a track record of improving performance within production environments.
Your experience may include:
- Fresh or chilled food manufacturing
• Fresh produce processing environments
• High volume FMCG food production
• Value added product manufacturing
• Leading large production teams within structured operational environments
You will also demonstrate:
- Strong leadership and team development capability
• A practical and hands on operational approach
• Deep understanding of food safety, hygiene and quality standards
• Strong operational and commercial awareness
• Experience driving efficiency and performance improvement across production operations
