Talent Finance are working in partnership with a respected and forward-thinking organisation to appoint a Director of Governance, Risk & Regulatory Compliance. This is a critical, high-impact leadership role entrusted to us due to its importance and organisational reach.
We’re looking for a visionary leader to oversee and guide the organisation’s Governance, Risk, Compliance and Legal portfolio. This role will give you a chance to shape the frameworks that uphold trust, transparency and transformation across operations serving thousands of customers.
You will help define what ethical leadership, regulatory excellence and assurance culture truly look like within a modern, complex organisation.

You’ll influence senior decision-making, drive assurance at scale, challenge established thinking, and embed a culture where accountability and performance go hand-in-hand.
This role leads four key functions:
- Governance & Company Secretariat
- Risk & Compliance
- Legal Services
- Regulatory Assurance
Directly managing senior leaders across these areas, overseeing a multi-million-pound budget, and serving as a key advisor to the Executive and Group Boards. From shaping policy to steering regulatory engagement, your impact will be felt across every corner of the organisation.
What You’ll Do
Your day-to-day leadership will include:
- Championing regulatory excellence and strengthening board assurance frameworks
- Leading the strategic servicing of Boards and Committees, ensuring informed and transparent decision-making
- Overseeing legal services and the organisation’s compliance frameworks
- Driving risk culture and the organisation’s approach to corporate assurance
- Influencing policy and ethical standards, including data protection and financial crime prevention
- Acting as a respected representative to regulators, auditors and external stakeholders
About You
We welcome applications from senior leaders with experience across governance, risk, compliance or legal oversight in complex environments. You will bring:
- A Chartered Governance Professional (CGIUKI) or equivalent qualification (desirable but not essential)
- Senior leadership experience in governance, legal, risk or compliance
- A proven track record working with Boards, regulators and complex portfolios
- Strong understanding of regulatory and legal frameworks, ideally including UK housing regulation, company law, and assurance models
- A collaborative, inclusive leadership style that inspires high-performing teams
