AP Manager

Are you an experienced Accounts Payable professional looking for a role with real ownership, leadership responsibility and exposure to a complex, multi-entity environment?
We’re working with a well-established organisation to recruit an Accounts Payable Manager to lead and develop their AP function. This is a senior operational role, ideal for someone who enjoys improving processes, managing people, and taking full responsibility for the smooth running of accounts payable across the business.
The Role
Reporting into senior finance leadership, you’ll take ownership of the end-to-end Accounts Payable function, ensuring accuracy, control and efficiency across all payment and expense activity. This is a hands-on management role with strong visibility and the opportunity to drive improvements across systems, controls and ways of working.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing daily Accounts Payable operations, including invoices, expenses and payment runs
- Managing AP activity across multiple entities and currencies
- Acting as the escalation point for internal and external queries
- Ensuring strong internal controls and fraud prevention processes are in place
- Supporting compliance across VAT and other indirect tax requirements
- Maintaining accurate supplier and employee data
- Leading, mentoring and developing the Accounts Payable team
- Supporting audit processes with clear documentation and explanations
- Identifying opportunities for automation and process improvement
- Working closely with finance systems teams to maintain data integrity
About You
- Proven experience in an Accounts Payable Manager or senior AP role
- Strong background managing AP in a multi-entity and multi-currency environment
- Experience leading and developing teams
- A strong controls mindset with excellent attention to detail
- Confident handling escalations and working with senior stakeholders
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems
Salary
- Up to £60,000
